Crispy Oven Fries

Potatoes are easily one of my favorite sides to prepare. There’s a million different ways to make them and unless you completely burn them, you can’t screw them up. One of my favorite ways to make them is into fries. This recipe uses yukon gold potatoes, but you could also sub in sweet potato or red potato if you wanted to.

Recipe

This recipe makes 2-3 servings of fries and can easily be doubled.

2-3 medium-sized Yukon gold potatoes

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tsp paprika

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp salt

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. While oven is preheating, cut potatoes into wedges or matchsticks. Toss the potatoes in olive oil and season with the paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Place potatoes on a baking sheet with as little overlapping as possible. Bake in oven for 25 minutes or until they turn golden brown and get crispy on the outside. Make sure to flip them about halfway through. Serve immediately or save in the fridge for 2-3 days.

    Go-To Guacamole

One of my favorite things about going home is eating all of my favorite foods my Mom makes. One of the staples in our house is southwestern food like tacos, chili, enchiladas and fajitas, so guacamole is made almost weekly to eat with whatever we’re having. While I love my mom’s recipe for guacamole and could easily eat a whole bowl of it by myself, it does have onions in it which I am no longer able to have. This recipe is my own version, based off of hers with a little twist to make it almost as good.

  • Roasted Sweet Potatoes

A couple of weeks ago, I posted my recipe for Crispy Oven Fries, and while those are great to make with sweet potatoes, I sometimes like to change the flavors that I use with the sweet potatoes. This recipe uses cinnamon which always goes well with sweet potatoes, while also adding more savory spices so that they aren’t overly sweet.
