Top 10 List- November 22, 2019

With Thanksgiving coming up this week, I thought I would make this week’s Top 10 List Thanksgiving themed. Look below for some of my favorite things to get you through the start of the holiday season.

If you just found out that you’ll be having a vegan attending Friendsgiving or you’re looking for more veggie-forward dishes, this list from Food52 has some great ideas.

If you’re traveling this holiday season and need a new suitcase, definitely look into Away. I got my first Bigger Carry-On Away bag this summer for a trip to Hawaii and it easily fit a week’s worth of clothes, 4 pairs of shoes, and toiletries, and held up to all of the plane and car rides that it went on. The carry-ons also come with a portable charger which was a huge help since my phone is old and doesn’t hold a charge anymore. If you’re interested, my referral link below will get you $20 off your first suitcase or bag.

While I’m traveling for the holidays, I’m always looking for new books to bring with me on plane rides and vacations. This book list from The Everygirl has some great suggestions in all different genres.

My mom first made this Cinnamon Star Bread a couple of years ago for breakfast on Christmas morning and it has been a favorite ever since. She normally preps the majority of it the night before so that all she has to do is bake it in the morning, and we normally add some icing on top to make it more cinnamon roll-ish. It’s perfect for holiday mornings since everyone can tear off a piece for a small breakfast before a big meal later in the day.

Although I am actually not a big Thanksgiving food person, I will always show up for the pie. My mom’s Kentucky Derby and Apple Pies are my favorites, but this year I might have to try a new one from Food52’s list of their best pie recipes.

This Ombre Pumpkin Centerpiece from Oh Happy Day is so different than what you normally see at Thanksgiving and could be done with whatever colors you like. I made a coffee table decoration out of this idea with leftover Halloween pumpkins that I painted dark green, navy blue, and a blue-gray color that I have fallen in love with.

I don’t use plastic wrap that often for leftovers, but I recently bought Bee’s Wrap when I needed to replace my plastic wrap as a more environmentally-friendly alternative. I have been pretty impressed with how well it works and will definitely purchase more in the future.

I found this Instagram account, Ain’t Too Proud To Meg by Meg Quinn, a while back and have been so impressed with her charcuterie and cheese boards. We always make a cheese board as our lunch/appetizer for Thanksgiving before our early dinner, and her account really makes me want to up my game this year.

I’ve featured Bon Appetit videos on my Top 10 Lists before and they recently came out with a new Thanksgiving-themed series. These episodes are longer and are perfect for watching while drinking hot chocolate in bed (not that I’ve done that).

Lastly, if you need the motivation to get through Thanksgiving with your crazy relatives, look no further…
